Rumor that Bobbi Kristina Brown got engaged to Nick Gordon is true after all. In a new sneak peek to Lifetime's new reality TV show "The Houstons: On Our Own", the daughter of late Whitney Houston confirmed that her adopted brother indeed had proposed to her.
The news caught the family off guard. Bobbi's aunt Patricia called the engagement "unacceptable." Gary Houston, Whitney's brother and husband to Pat Houston, was equally surprised as telling Gary, "No one knew that from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend. No one knew that."
Commenting on the negative reactions they got from the family, Gary said, "The family has me out to be a bad person." Bobbi was determined to prove them wrong as saying to the camera, "They want to see us fail ... We won't."
The reality TV series will premiere on October 24. Talking about her late mother, Bobbi gushed, "I didn't see her as an idol. The glam and glitz ... I didn't see that. I saw a mom."
Bobbi and Nick got close after Whitney passed away early this year. "We're just close -- just going through her mom's passing and grieving together," he once tweeted. They first sparked engagement rumor when she was spotted wearing a large diamond ring during a PDA-filled outing. They vehemently denied it back then.
