Report: Lady GaGa and Prince to Take Part in 'Great Gatsby' Soundtrack Album

Report: Lady GaGa and Prince to Take Part in 'Great Gatsby' Soundtrack Album

Baz Luhrmann's highly-anticipated drama "The Great Gatsby" will likely have A-list musicians supporting its soundtrack album. According to The Playlist, it is none other than Lady GaGa who is set to take part in the soundtrack project along with veteran singer Prince.

The report was broken by actress Adelaide Clemens who plays Catherine Wilson in the vintage-themed film. During a recent press junket for "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D", she told The Playlist, "They have some new music that's going to be added to the film," when discussing why the movie was pushed back to May 10, 2013.

"Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don't think Warner Bros. are going to turn down Prince and Lady GaGa knocking down your door," Clemens went on spilling the beans. She then quickly added, "I don't know if I'm allowed to say that."

Both Luhrmann and Warner Bros. Pictures haven't said anything to confirm GaGa and Prince's rumored involvement in the album. It's also still unclear whether the Mother Monster and the "Purple Rain" hitmaker will collaborate in a song or work separately.

Should GaGa sign the deal with Warners, this will mark her very first involvement in a soundtrack album for a movie. As for Prince, he is no stranger to doing soundtracks. He'd previously contributed songs for such films as "Purple Rain", "Under the Cherry Moon" and the 1989 version of "Batman". His latest contribution for a movie was in 2006's "Happy Feet" soundtrack album.
