Victoria's Secret to Cut Indian Costume From Broadcast Following Protest
Viewers won't see Karlie Kloss walking on the runway wearing Native
American-style costume when Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs December
4 on CBS. The brand has decided to yank portion of the show from
broadcast after it offended people, especially Native Americans, by
putting an Indian feather headdress on the leopard-print lingerie-clad
model.
Feather headdresses or war bonnets are a symbol of bravery and usually
worn by Indian chiefs and honored warriors, but not women. Those who
criticized the use of the headdres claimed the company disrespected the
Native American cultures and history.
"We are sorry that the Native American headdress replica used in our
recent fashion show has upset individuals," Victoria's Secret took to
its Facebook page to offer its apology. "We sincerely apologize as we
absolutely had no intention to offend anyone. Out of respect, we will
not be including the outfit in any broadcast, marketing materials nor in
any other way."
Kloss has also expressed her regret, tweeting, "I am deeply sorry if
what I wore during the VS Show offended anyone. I support VS's decision
to remove the outfit from the broadcast."
This year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show took place November 7 at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio were among other models supporting the event, while Rihanna and Justin Bieber made performances on the stage.
Just days before the show sparked protest for the use of Indian headdress, No Doubt
were forced to pull its "Looking Hot" music video since its content and
theme, which features a war between Western cowboys and Indians,
offended Native Americans.

Khloe Kardashian Talks Her Nip Slip on 'X Factor'
Khloe Kardashian suffered a wardrobe malfunction on her first day hosting "The X Factor (US)"
and she has talked about it. On Thursday, November 1 after the second
live show, she told reporters, "I kind of looked. From my angle I
thought maybe it was nipple-y, but from what I heard, it was entire
areolas. That was what the production told me in my ear. They were like,
'Your areolas are out.' "
Speaking of her outfit choice, the reality TV star revealed, "[The
blouse] came in the mail and I wanted to wear it. It's lined with nude
lining, it's not just like a sheer top. I had no idea, with my dressing
room lights you didn't see a thing. We were rushed and went on stage."
Then, she saw Simon Cowell
"sort of doing something like this [points to her chest], and I thought
he meant my hair. Then I hear in my ear, 'We've got to fix your shirt.'
I didn't know what they were talking about and I heard, 'Full areola is
out.' "
Sharing how her husband Lamar Odom
reacted to the wardrobe malfunction, she said, "We talked about the
show, but I just forgot that part. Today [after watching the show] he
texts me, 'Um make sure you're not showing your nipples tonight.' "
Simon himself wasn't really bothered by the nip-slip. "No, I thought it
was hilarious," he commented. "Your first live show, you don't wear a
bra, and the studio's freezing, of course."
Making her debut on the FOX reality show on Wednesday, Khloe wore a
purple blouse with plunging V-neck. Noticing that the co-host's nipple
was a bit exposed, Simon enthused, "You're looking very sexy tonight. I
think the air conditioning's on high tonight. It's very distracting."

'Dancing with the Stars' Recap: Gilles Marini and Shawn Johnson Get First 10s
Following the double eliminations last week, "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" returned with the remaining 9 couples who performed dances picked by one another last week. From Mambo to Bollywood, all the "surprise" numbers were rarely seen or even never seen on the show.Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy came out first that night, dancing a Charleston. "You turn Monday into a fun-day," Len Goodman said, but added, "I would have liked it a little cleaner here or there." Carrie Ann Inaba also sang praise, "Your dancing is fabulous - you were playing to your strengths." Despite the mostly positive reviews, the judges who included guest judge Paula Abdul only gave Kirstie 30 out of 40 points.
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas danced a Rock and Roll routine and Bruno Tonioli said she was "hitting all the steps." Paula chimed in, "It looks like you're starting to have fun. I'm proud of you." The reality TV star earned 32, saving her from being on the bottom of the scoreboard for another week.
Sabrina Bryan danced a Disco with Louis Van Amstel, bringing a nostalgic feeling especially to Len. "I'm back. It's 1978," the judge said, calling the performance "fabulous." Bruno said she lost timing twice, but Carrie Ann disagreed. Paula added, "It was fantastic." The former Disney star got 35.5.
Emmitt Smith oozed sexiness during his Bolero routine with Cheryl Burke. Paula gushed, "It was sensual. You are a sexy beast," and Carrie Ann stated a similar opinion. Len also liked it as saying, "Bolero is flow... And I thought you coped." The former NFL player earned 36.
Gilles Marini set the bar higher with his Bollywood number. "That was beyond belief. Fantastic!" Carrie Ann enthused. Len added, "I know nothing about Bollywood dancing, but I know what I like. And I like this." The runner-up of season 8 got the first 10s of this season for a total score of 39.5.
Melissa Rycroft danced a Jitterbug. Len called her "class dancer" for showing "clean" and "correct" performance every time she danced. Bruno said it was "near perfection," as Paula praised the footwork. The TV host earned 37.
Shawn Johnson earned an almost perfect score of 39.5 with her stylish Mambo. "If I were the other contestants, I'd be a little scared of you right now," Carrie Ann gushed. Bruno had nothing but praises, "Sexy! Mesmerizing! Out of this world!" and Len simply said he liked it.
Apolo Anton Ohno danced a Hip-Hop number with a couple of mishaps during the performance. His microphone pack fell off and his pro-dancer partner Karina Smirnoff slipped. She cried after the dance ended, but the judges seemingly had their focuses on Apolo. "You were out there smoking! Karina, to be honest, I wasn't even looking at you, so I don't care," Len said, as Paula commented, "Kudos to you... You've got the swagger." The speedskater earned 34.5.
Despite having a broken toe, Kelly Monaco still managed to dance a contemporary number that night. "It was such a beautiful routine," Paula said, while Carrie Ann added, "What makes it amazing... Is to be truly in touch with your emotion." The soap opera star got 37.5.
This week's result show will air Tuesday, October 16 at 8 P.M., an hour earlier than usual. Next week, meanwhile, there will be no elimination and all contestants will dance in one-hour shows on Monday and Tuesday.
