Katy Perry Reportedly Receives Settlement Money From Hair Care Lawsuit

Katy Perry apparently scores big hit following the settlement of lawsuit against a British hair care company Jemella Group, that is behind the product Good Hair Day (GHD). According to TMZ, the "Thinking of You" singer received "a significant amount of money" from the company.Previously, the celebrity news site reported that Katy and the hair carecompany called off a $2 million suit between them last month. They also agreed to drop their right to re-submit a lawsuit in the future.Katy had been with the company fortwo years. Katy's camp later claimed that the company told her they would renew her contract as global ambassador for $2 million. Jemella Group, however, denied that such agreement ever took place, adding that they would drop her when the contract was finished. The company allegedly said in its court filing that they wanted to stopworking with her because the singer's popularity in Europe was fading."Jemella's attempt to embarrass Ms. Perry by including defamatory statements about her in a public filing is shameful. They're backing out of the deal because of an ownership change, and just throwing shade to hide their bad faith," a spokesperson for Katy said at that time. Katy later launched a counterclaim after the company kept using her image."Those who wish to do business with a company that does not honor its contractual commitments, yet reaps the benefits of the agreements giving rise to those commitments, would find a perfect business partner in GHD," her legal documents reportedly read.
