"Bachelor Pad" season 3 contestants, Tony Pieper and his partner Blakeley Jones, called off their engagement. The split was announced just a month after he proposed to her.
"Unfortunately, things didn't work as we had hoped," Tony told Wetpaint. "No one is to blame. It just ended up being a lot harder than we expected. I wish her nothing but the absolute best. She deserves total happiness."
"I thought Blakeley was the love of my life," Tony told PEOPLE. "I really hope we'll stay friends. Right now, it's really hard. But I'll always love her." Meanwhile, Blakeley still says nothing about the split. She just tweeted, "#bestrong #havefaith".
"It was like a fairy tale at first when we were on the show and afterward," Tony explained how both of them dealt with problems before the split. "It was like a vacation - we were in the honeymoon stage. Then when she moved here, it was really difficult for both of us."
He added, "Blakeley had to start over a new life - there were so many stresses. The honeymoon stage drifted away. We were both going through the motions and we weren't as happy as we could have been. It was a mutual decision [to end our relationship]."
Tony also said that they did try to fix the problems by having "a counseling session." Unfortunately, it didn't work.
The duo began dating earlier this year during the show. Then the single dad proposed to Blakeley in the season finale of the show in September. "I'm still in shock!" said the 34-year-old female star after the marriage proposal. "I had no shadow of a doubt that I would marry this man. I just didn't know when it would happen."
"I move quick. I just had that feeling, and I care about this girl more than I've cared about anybody else in my entire life," said the 30-year-old male star, who asked his then-fiancee to move in with him soon after proposing.
After the split, Blakeley is rumored moving out of Tony's home in Portland and heading back to her hometown of Charlotte.
