Swift won in the Best Live and Best Look categories. The 22-year-old singer also had some pretty tough competition in her third award for Best Female, besting other contenders like Pink, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Rihanna.
Bieber, meanwhile, showed his dominance of the pop scene when he bagged the Best Pop and Best World Stage trophies. He beat other top nominees such as Maroon 5, Ke$ha, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Taylor Swift. The teen pop sensation also took home the Best Male award where he fought against hip hop world's big male artists such as Jay-Z, Pitbull, Flo Rida and Kanye West.
Bieber's close pal, Carly Rae Jepsen, was also proud of her Best Song award for the hit single "Call Me Maybe" and Best Push trophy, which is given to emerging artists in the music industry.
Other big winners of the night were Korean rap sensation PSY, who took the Best Video award for his viral hit "Gangnam Style", and Nicki Minaj, who won the Best Hip-Hop prize. Artists Rihanna and Lady GaGa were less successful in bringing home an EMA trophy that night when they failed to win any award from their respective nominations.
The event also honored late singer Whitney Houston with the Global Icon accolade with a tribute led by Alicia Keys and voiced by Beyonce Knowles. Performances for the evening came from The Killers, No Doubt and Rita Ora. Swift ended the star-studded night with her hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".
